About the owner

Sharon Swagger Valitzski

I’d like to introduce myself

I’m Sharon Swagger—soon to be Sharon Valitzski, as I plan to take my maiden name back. I recently left an 18-year government career focused exclusively on natural resource planning and land conservation projects. After a personally challenging few years, I chose a new direction: honoring the people I’ve loved and lost, and those I’m still raising.

In 2018, my parents, Jim and Charlotte Valitzski, bought property in Madison County, Georgia and welcomed my little family to build and live there too. For eight years, we worked together as family, neighbors, and supporters. In 2026, I lost both of my parents within five months. They were my biggest fans and greatest supporters.

Biger Creek forms the boundary of this property. The name Biger Creek Conservation Legacy, LLC came to me as a nod to my parents’ love and support. A Great Blue Heron flies over twice a day, every day—hence the logo.

Conservation is my passion and drive; it sets my soul on fire. Managing and stewarding land, helping landowners, wildlife, and forests—it’s my jam. I’m educated as a wildlife biologist and forester, and I spent two years doing that work directly. Getting back to boots-on-the-ground work after my government career is exciting.

Legacy is personal, too. I have two children who make my heart full. Protecting wild and working spaces is the most critical part of conservation, and it’s for them. Permanent protection through conservation easements is my expertise. Sixteen years of conservation-easement work through government programs for private landowners gave me knowledge I want to put to work for my community. I had a hand in over 215 easement transactions, including acquisition, restoration, management, and long-term stewardship. This helped over 100,000 acres be permanently protected and stewarded across the great state of Georgia!

Clean air. Clean water. Green spaces. Rich biodiversity. Local food. These are the things I want to help ensure my children have. Sustainable land-use practices and permanent land protection are how I can help make that possible.

I’m a big-picture thinker, so my work is not only for private landowners. I also want to support organizations already working in this arena with strategic planning, grant writing, and other ways to help their clients and boards achieve their missions.

I want to help without sidebars and red tape—and for those who want my help. I also love to talk to anyone about the importance of conservation and land protection. And really, my kids, too.

Conversations. Planning. Conservation.
